I know this sounds like the beginning of a Marvel movie, but now we’re microwaving solar power down from orbit.
As a teenager, I read a lot of science fiction from classic writers like Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Larry Niven. Famously, Clarke circulated a scholarly paper in 1945 detailing how we could bounce radio waves off of satellites, effectively inventing what would become the communications satellite. I’d love to know what Dr. Clarke would have to say about this kind of research.
